A paraphrased and anonomised quote from a work email I received just the other day (December 2009).
"Further to my email in October, here is an update on the progress of the XYZ project (begun in Jan 2009). (Since October) we have:
- Translated our business requirements into a high-level technical design
- Broken the work down into a series of packages
- Identified areas of technical risk
- Ensured that the risks are dealt with as early as possible.
This work has shown us that our plan of releasing the new XYZ service in August 2010 is tight...."
If you don't know why I think this is funny, look at the dates again. If you still don't know, then there is no hope for you!
